We open next Saturday, April 28th, at 9am sharp until 4pm in the afternoon.
Chris has been busy installing our sign, after Lizz finished painting it. My picture was at the wrong angle this morning with the sun, but you get the idea. I’ll try to take a better photo tomorrow and post it up instead if time allows. All the same, the sign looks awesome and it will look even better when the flower planters are moved out around it’s base to “color it up” just a bit more.
This is our display fairy garden planter for the Farm Stand! I bet you can see all those fairies dancing around in their own little garden. We will have loads of small plants just right for miniature gardens, whether they are inside or outside gardens. There are lots of creeping vaireties of thymes, baby’s tears, alpine strawberries, fairy rose baby’s breath, and many more. We have put a small little fairy sticker on our plant signs to indicate which plants are appropriate for this type of gardening. We know the kids are gonna love this sweet little display garden, compete with a fairy house and little fairies too.
We will have all sorts of plants for sale. In addition to the best selection of herbs you are likely to find in the southwest, we will also have a lot of heritage and heirloom food plants. I think we will have somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 kinds of basils, and that’s just the basils!! There are over 30 vaieties of peppers alone! We will be offering that many again tomato choices, loads of different kinds of greens and root veggies, squashes and pumpkins galore and cucumbers, plus eggplants and amaranth…all sorts of fun edibles. There will be two kinds of everbearing strawberries, raspberry and currant bushes, plus edible flowers too.
Check out our free workshops this weekend too. On Saturday, at 10-11 am, I will be doing a demonstration on how to plant and care for patio herb gardens containers. On Sunday, from 1:30-2:30, we will be discovering how to create your very own fairy or gnome garden. Every weekend of our Open Farm Days there will be free workshops offered. You can find all the specific details about them on the classes and events page of this blog.
For directions please go to the Open Farm Days page of this blog. You will get all the information you need to make your visit just perfect. Please do leave your pets at home. If you are shopping in our Farm Stand, you will want to know that we accept cash and good checks only. Sorry, but we cannot accept debit or credit cards.
Remember that we are only open on weekends from April 28th through May 27th. The farm is absolutely closed to the public on week days, as we are busy serving the needs of our wholesale customers.
We will hope to see you next weekend!!
